James frowned at her, not entirely following. “Will I what?”

“Offer your assistance,” she clarified. Her smile twisted into a teasing expression, and James smiled back, finding he liked this woman. She was direct and forward, and he suspected she had a scheme or two up her sleeves as well. He bowed again.

“Naturally, My Lady. If you require any assistance during your stay, please come and find me. I shall help in any way I can.”

She pursed her lips and looked him up and down. “Perhaps there is a way you could help me. Lady Aurelia—I trust you know her well?”
